- Most Talent ID systems are fruitless so it is important to keep the 'talent pool' (playing numbers!) as large as possible
- Selection before the Relative Age Effect (RAE) which dominates youth sport has chance to even itself out is pointless as this only favours the older athletes and has no relation to actual potential.

There were some of English Rugby's top S&C coaches and Sport Scientists present; Simon Worsnop (England RFU National Fitness Advisor), Roy Headey (Head of Sports Science, RFU) Alex Martin (Head of S&C, Leicester Tigers), Kev Mannion (Head of Academy S&C, Leicester Tigers) and world-renowned experts such as Robert Newton (Australia) and Dr Ross Tucker (South Africa). There were many more but this at least gives an idea of the calibre of experts involved in the discussions!
